Unique handcrafted glass jewellery by Canadian artist Krystal Jones
I'm the artist behind all the beautiful handmade glass earrings and bracelets you see on my website. Each unique piece is literally crafted with these hands with the majority of my work created using a technique called lampworking (using a torch).
Although I'm a Canadian artist working from my home studio in Sherwood Park, AB- I was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK which will always be my home.
Aside from being a glass artist- I'm an animal lover, a gardener and a Mom to a very sweet toddler. I enjoy crownland camping in the summers and cross country skiing in the winter.
I truly am a real person that values each customer I get! Every purchase allows me to grow as an artist by investing in more tools, equipment and training to expand my skillset.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me get here today and to everyone who will help me continue to grow in the future.

So, I never meant to be a glass artist- it honestly never crossed my mind that I would be capable of such a skill. And growing up in Saskatchewan, it's not something that's readily available and of course I've never met anyone who ever did it.
But in 2018, following a surgery I had a 4-6 week recovery where I was unable to do ANYTHING. No going to the gym, no hiking, nothing physical... I had no idea how I was going to pass the time. So I was searching online for something to do for the upcoming weekend and stumbled upon a lampworking course at a local studio to learn how to make simple glass beads.
I signed up thinking it would be a fun way to pass a Saturday afternoon, and instead it truly did ignite something within me. I completely fell in love with glassworking from that single class. I took that lesson and ran with it! I bought myself a basic hot head torch and turned my spare room into a studio to create.
And create I did! I made hundreds of these beautiful little glass beads that just sat in a bag. With encouragement from family and friends, I started stringing those beads into handmade glass bracelets and attending local markets. In order to attend those markets, I needed a business name. I was mourning the loss of my dog Gaia at the time and I honestly couldn't think of anything more fitting than to name my new business in loving tribute to her. And just like that Gaia's Glasswear was born.
My work has expanded since those early days to include glass earrings, hair pins and recently I have begun creating glass flowers (which are not yet for sale on this website but I feel will soon be)
Please note that items may take slightly longer to arrive as Canada Post continues to clear its backlogged system from the strike.
Thank you for your understanding!
-Krystal.
